I've had a camera in my hand for just about as long as I can remember, but it wasn't until about five years ago that I found my love for photography. I used to be terrible in front of cameras. I was always one of those people who dreaded having her photo taken because it just never looked like "me" - ironic for a girl who grew up with a photojournalist as a father! But as time went on, I came to realize that the problem wasn't my hair or the way I smiled - it was the way I felt. That's why I focus just as much on your experience as your photos. Being in front of a camera can feel awkward and exposed when you aren't comfortable, but when you are? It's magical.
